Positiones, 1573-1908.

In this series, one finds a great amount of business concerning ecclesiastical administration, at its most bureaucratic level: benefices and other financial concerns, disputes between diocesan and/or civic officials regarding property or jurisdiction, impediments to the execution duties specified by Trent, puzzling irregularities encountered, punishments and excuses for episcopal nonresidency or failure to conduct visitations, diocesan building campaigns, and the educational projects. The bishop also appears in these sources in his ceremonial and sacramental roles. His dealings with confraternities, alms distribution, and testamentary bequests also emerge from the files of this series.
